Everything is going well this New Year in France so far.
Kari enjoys her job and is settling into the role of the breadwinner for us. She likes the people she works with and the project that she is working on. As for myself I finished two weeks of French at Centre International d'Antibes. I went for 9 days, three hours a day, and I am surprised at how much I learned. I am by no means fluent, but I understand and speak much better (as long as they don't speak too fast and speak in the present tense).
As far as work, I put a post on an English website that is down here (AnglInfo) and I have gotten 3 responses. On Saturday I met with a guy who does remodels in and around Antibes. It would be interesting because I would be working on buildings that are a couple of hundred years old and such. I hope to speak to this other company Tuesday or Wednesday that does AV systems on yachts. So it looks good on the job prospects; I should have one by February.
The weather is fine. It has been cold, but no worse than what we are used to at home. It did rain for a few days last week, pretty heavy and nonstop for about 24 hours at least once. I had to buy an umbrella, and since I did, it hasn't rained, go figure. As you can see in the picture, the mountains have been getting dumped on, apparently the best snow they have had in a few years.
The last two weeks we have been fighting headcolds. I got it one weekend, then Kari had it this weekend. Tis the season, so that put a damper on us exploring the area, but we hope to get back to it this coming weekend.
