Ireland: Saints and scholars, leprechauns and Bigfoot?

While we were in Aughaville and Dromore (little village butted right up to Aughaville), a couple of older people told us about a legendary creature who purported inhabited West Cork, and is still sighted from time to time.

This large man/ape creature has been seen walking from field to field. While we were out visiting the farm where our dad grew up, we saw the creature along the skyline, and I was able to get a picture of him. He was moving sluggishly and without much purpose.

It's nice to know that even in these modern times, mystical creatures still inhabit parts of the world.
