Bonjour from the south of France! We arrived last Tuesday and are getting settled slowly. Yesterday was a day spent viewing various apartments in Antibes and setting up our French bank account. We are staying at the corporate housing. It's like a hotel, but instead of one room, it's a little 1 BR apartment with a terrace and a kitchenette. Not too bad.
We have been able to see a lot of the immediate area since we have a rental car. (Finally, back to driving on the correct side!!!) We took quick trips up to Nice and to this neat town nearby called Biot. Biot is an old village perched on top of a hill. It's kind of like a medieval fort town--stone everywhere and steep streets.
We also have spent time walking around Antibes and finding the buses, train station, etc. It's a really cool town with this massive harbor and fort overlooking the harbor. You should see some of the yachts anchored there--they are bigger than the ferries on the Bay. Amazing. And the color of the water is this gorgeous turquoise. It's been raining since we arrived, but the water is still beautiful. Can't wait for warmer weather.
Hope everyone had a good Thanksgiving. More soon...
