We've got a busy few weeks coming up for the holidays. The whole point of us coming over here was to travel, so we're really going to put it to the test.
12/12-12/14: Milan
My friend here at work lived in Milan for 16 years before coming here, and she still has her apartment there. She has a wedding to attend on Saturday, so we're tagging along as tourists (for the city, not the wedding...). A quick trip--leaving here directly after work, coming back Sunday night.
12/20 - 12/23: Paris
I'm flying to Paris to meet a friend from SF who is coming over. We both love, love, love Paris, so it should be great to be there together! We're going to hit the flea markets at Saint-Ouen, just in the north of Paris, and I'm so excited. Antiques, furniture, Paris!
12/23 - 12/27: Amsterdam
My friend and I will take the train from Paris to Amsterdam on 12/23, while Kevin flies from Nice to Amsterdam. We'll all hang out and spend Xmas, and then Kev and I will return to France on 12/27. My friend remains in Amsterdam until 1/5, then goes back to SF.
12/29 - 1/3: Geneva
We decided to go to Geneva because: 1) We've never been to Switzerland before and 2) Antibes is dead over the New Year's week. So we're going to explore and ring in the New Year there. And this is the French-speaking part of Switzerland, so we should do just fine.
At first, we were only going to do the Amsterdam trip, but then Kevin told me that his workplace closed down for the full two weeks, so we thought, "Well, why not?" It will be busy, but we're looking forward to it.
When we get back, we'll post all our photos, etc.
