We've made it!

We've made it! It was a long flight and a long trip on the bus to get here, but we're here. We've been staying at Kevin's cousin's house in a village called Overseal since we arrived. The beautiful weather came with us as this is the first day with clouds in the sky. It's been warm and nice.
Now that we're somewhat recovered from the jet lag and time change, we're starting to go about finding our own place to live. Kevin went to work with Peter (his cousin) today to talk to an electrician and perhaps see about finding a job. I'm in the nearby bigger town (drove here myself!) to run some errands. We drove to a couple of places yesterday just to check out the town and see what rental prices are like. It will be interesting to see how the search goes.
So far, we've been to two different pubs and just spent a lot of time hanging out with Peter and his family. It's his wife Hayley, and their two daughters Lauren and Grace. Lauren is turning 18 this Friday, and there is a big party planned with all the family turning out for the event. They're holding it at a local hotel. We're going to tell all of Lauren's friends that we've come all the way from America just for her party. This will be a great opportunity for us to see a bunch of Kevin's huge extended family as well. They'll all be in one place, which is nice.
We've also been to a local castle for a quick tour as well as taken some walks along the local roads just to look around.
More later, as my time is about to run out on my session here at the local library!
